Fat Quarter of the Month

For each fat quarter you bring, you put one ticket in the hat. One winner will take home all of them. They may be blenders, tone on tone, stripes, prints or batiks that reflect the shades of one or both the scents for the month. Each month you have two scents to choose from. There will be a basket marked on a table each month to deposit your fat quarters.

Fabric Strip Swap -- Just Batiks

Purchase one yard of good quality batik fabric for the monthly category. Wash and press. Cut twelve two and one half strips to trade / swap. Place the strips in a zip lock bag with your name on the bag and / or index card in the bag with your name.

Bring your bag of strips to the guild meeting. If you cannot attend the meeting, please ask a friend to deliver the strips or you can mail them to Yvonne S. If you know you will miss a meeting, Yvonne will take the strips ahead of time -- but please do not bring all of your strips at one time.

Please be mindful of gragrance(s) due to perfumes, pets, tobacco, detergent, fabric softeners, etc. with your fabric. Fragrance is an issue for many people with asthma, other breathing issues, allergies, etc. If you have any questions, please contact Yvonne S.

Monthly Categories for 2011 - 2012

Your fabric will be "mostly" the color(s) named even though other colors are there too. That's part of the interest with batiks. (Example--When you see yellow / gold ... your fabric could be mostly yellow, or mostly gold, or a combination of yellow and gold with some other colors mixed in.)

God's Pantry

We will continue to collect food and money at our next meeting. The pantry still has a great need for canned meats, peanut butter and cereal.

If you prefer to donate your spare change, that would be good too. Thank you all for your continued support!
